The Rio de Janeiro Docks Company recorded the highest monthly turnover in the year in August. The R$ 116.1 million mark has been reached, considering the four ports managed by the Port Authority – Rio de Janeiro, Itaguaí, Niterói, and Angra dos Reis – was 185.7% higher than the turnover of August 2020. The total movement of the month, consolidated by the company, reached 5.7 million tons, an increase of 9.6% in the annual average until July and 11.3% compared to August last year.

The analysis highlights that the Port of Rio de Janeiro, widely used in our exports, registered, in August, a monthly record of cargo handling, with 885,000 tons, considering the historical series started in January 2015. This volume increased by 21,3% compared to July 2021 and 24.5% compared to August last year. The port’s turnover was R$ 16.2 million in August, maintaining the average observed in the first half of this year and surpassing, by 28.1%, the result obtained in August 2020.
