In the period from January to April 2021, the study also showed that 450 thousand tons of fruit were exported, which generated revenue of US$ 422.3 million for the country. In São Paulo, specialists consider the exportation market as positive since it boosts also the domestic market and favors production profitability.
Among the fruits that stand out in the IBGE projection and that are produced in the region, the mango is the one with the greatest potential for export and has reached US$ 6 million in revenue for the country. In addition to exports, the survey also shows the largest productions, in 2022 and for the next ten years, for bananas (increase of 5.8%), grapes (increase of 12.2%) and mango (from 23.7 %).
In the analysis of the IBGE, Brazil exports still exposts only a small amount of fruits in relation its production and potential.
From the perspective of the IBGE, for the next 10 years there will be an increase in the production of manga in Brazilian orchards, with exportation being considered another advance for the producer’s investment. In the ranking of expansion of fruit growing, mango is in second place, with a perspective of increase of 23.7%. In first place is melon, with an increase of 30.6%.
