With the end of the first half of 2023 approaching, producers and agents of mango farming in the São Francisco Valley (PE/BA) are dedicating themselves to preparations for the second half harvest. According to employees of Hortifruti/Cepea, many orchards are showing abundant flowering, bringing expectations of good production.
The second semester is the main period of mango production in the semi-arid region, when productivity is higher and prices are usually lower. Even so, the volume harvested will still depend on the climate scenario from now on – production in the first half, for example, did not favor much, with rains limiting the volume and quality of mangoes.
